Members of the Woodworkers of Central New York helped out with the June 8th Sleep in Heavenly Peace build. This effort was coordinated by the Camillus Rotary and West Genesee School Technology Club. Sleep in Heavenly Peace is a national effort that hopes to provide a bed to all children who don't have one to sleep in. In the Central New York area alone it is estimated that upwards of 3000 children have no bed. Our members spent four hours on the first gorgeous Saturday in Upstate NY working with approximately 50 school kids and several other volunteers to build 10 bunk beds. Mostly, our members supervised the kids, lending advice as needed.
