Patriotic Bowl
A walnut, cherry, and maple bowl was carefully constructed to present an appropriate background for the M&Ms. The 13 cherry and maple stripes are 5/8" thick. The bowl's final size is 8 1/8" in diameter and 1 7/8" thick. The finish is walnut oil and bees wax. The artist is Ray Smith. Comments from the voters: Neat Idea! Well proportioned piece. I Pledge
The Pledge of Allegiance is presented in this scrolled multi-piece 16" x 24" wall hanging. The Pledge is cut from maple plywood and mounted on a flag print. A white pine frame was flamed to highlight the contents. Lacquer is the finish. Artist is Bob Henry. This plaque will be hung in the Irondequoit Library, part of a display highlighting the artists in the community. |
Symbol & Spirit of America!
A 1/2 inch piece of spalted live edge maple hosts this scrolled image of the bald eagle, the national bird of the United States since 1782. Five years later in 1787, the bald eagle was adopted as the United States emblem. It symbolizes the strength and freedom of America! Robert Ward is the artist.
