Steve Grossman built this walnut with maple inlay Dimple Box using plans in the October/November 2020 issue of Woodcraft magazine. For the finish, he started with boiled linseed oil. After 5 days of drying, he added amber wax and then buffed it. The dimpling is done with either a power carver like a Dremel with the appropriate bit.

Barbara Raymond-LaPrease recently completed a variety of projects.
The 5" tall cherry vase is a pattern from Steve Good. It is missing a finish. The hedgehog is from the Winter 2020 issue of Scrollsaw Woodworking & Crafts. It is supposed to "ramp walk" and is one of many patterns available from Wood Creation Plans. Hopefully, she can adjust so it will ramp walk. The spoiled dog plaque is another Steve Good pattern with raised photos of Credence and Bama. It's a gift for the dogs' parents. The decorative bowls are rosewood and walnut. The heart baskets are another Steve Good pattern. The basket walls of the smaller basket are cut from the scrap of the larger basket. Another box will use the inside of the small basket. |
