Larry Prunotto recently completed this pet urn and remembrance coasters for a friend who’s dog passed away suddenly from an auto-immune disease. Urn is butternut and round coaster is poplar. Rectangular coasters and round coaster inset were laser cut by Bruce Meissner. Bruce also laser engraved the paw print and rose on the urn lid, along with laser engraving the remembrance inscriptions. The unexpected crack in the lid was filled with a turquoise mica epoxy mixture. Finish for all of the components is multiple coats of Wipe-on-Poly and Beall buffed.
This project was initiated by a sad happening. Thanks to Bruce and the benefit I receive from our organization’s knowledge and experiences, it makes these personally rewarding offerings possible |
Charlie LaPrease was helping cut up the tree felled in a friend's yard when his splitting maul handle broke. The hickory replacement handle is shown in the photo.
A neighbor brought him two large pieces of ash from a tree cut down at their northern camp and asked Charlie what he could make with it. Charlie first turned the large salad bowl sitting in the shavings. More to come ... Charlie also completed the butternut platter shown in the photo. |
