Support for Central New York
One of the missions of the Woodworkers of Central New York is to contribute to the community in which we live, practice our craft, and enjoy. Children are the future for all of us and providing resources that can support children, especially those that are sick, is one small way members of the Woodworkers of Central New York can give back.
In order to fulfill that goal, in 2006 the club created an initiative where members donate completed projects - ornaments, vases, bottle stoppers, ice cream scoops, nativity scenes, etc. The club then sets up booths at limited craft shows regionally to sell what we take receive. The net profits are then distributed to a variety of local children's charities to help further their mission and offset costs. Over the years, the club's donated about $70,000 to the various charities from these sales.
